Google Gemini free for Pakistani students is a real offer in August 2026 — but it is easy to mix up with last year’s expired campaign and with the US-only Pro plan. This is the process page. For what Google launched in the app (Student Hub, notebooks, 3D study tools), read the Gemini Student Hub news briefing.
What you actually get (Pakistan)
Google’s 19 August 2026 back-to-school post is split by country:
| If your Google account country is… | Student year (claim by 31 Dec 2026) |
|---|---|
| United States | Google AI Pro (about $19.99/mo after the year) |
| Pakistan and 140+ other Plus markets | Google AI Plus (about $4.99/mo or PKR equivalent after the year) |
Pakistan is on Google’s published AI Plus country list. The student Plus offer excludes only a short list (Bolivia, Albania, Canada, Macau, Hong Kong, Tunisia). Pakistan is not on that exclusion list.
Google AI Plus for students typically includes:
- 2× Gemini usage versus the free app
- Gemini Omni
- 400 GB Google One storage (Drive, Gmail, Photos)
- Higher NotebookLM / study-notebook limits
- Student Hub tools (notebooks, quizzes, flashcards)
It is not the US Pro bundle (5 TB, Gemini Spark, 4× limits). Do not VPN to the United States to “upgrade” the SKU — that breaks Google’s terms and still bills the card on file.
Two Pakistan stories — do not confuse them
- Global student offer (live now): claim Google AI Plus at gemini.google.com/students by 31 December 2026.
- Google Pakistan office (announced 18–19 August 2026): VP Wilson White said Google would give Pakistani students a free one-year Gemini subscription as part of opening a local office, with a formal announcement expected later that week. Treat that as a possible extra local programme, not a substitute for the global Plus claim.
An older Pakistan student promo (Gemini 2.5 Pro / AI Pro style) ended around March 2026. If the students page says “previous student offer ended,” that is the old campaign. Look for Claim / Get student offer on the August 2026 Plus plan.
Step-by-step: claim the subscription
1. Check eligibility before you open the form
You are in the intended audience if:
- You are 18 or older (Gemini paid AI features are 18+)
- You are currently enrolled in a degree or certificate programme at an accredited college/university (LUMS, NUST, Punjab, KU, FAST, GIKI, COMSATS, medical/engineering colleges, etc.)
- You will sign in with a personal Google account
Intermediate/Matric school IDs and fake “university” PDFs are not a path. SheerID is built to reject them.
2. Use personal Gmail, country = Pakistan
Sign out of any @lums.edu.pk, @nust.edu.pk, or other Workspace campus account. Google’s offer footnotes say student plans are not available on school-issued accounts.
On myaccount.google.com confirm the account’s country is Pakistan (this is what decides Plus vs Pro).
3. Open only Google’s student URL
Go to gemini.google.com/students (or the same hub inside the Gemini Android app). Tap Claim free student plan / Get student offer.
You may be sent through Google One to pick the plan. That is normal.
Ignore Telegram/WhatsApp “activation” files. Those are how accounts get hijacked.
4. Verify you are a student (SheerID)
Google uses SheerID for enrollment checks. Expect some mix of:
- Legal name as on your CNIC / university record
- University or college name
- Date of birth
- Student ID / roll number
- Proof: student card photo, enrollment or bonafide letter, fee voucher, or a working institutional email
If your campus is missing from the dropdown, use manual document upload. Processing can take minutes or a couple of days.
5. Add a card anyway (year one is still Rs 0)
Google requires a valid payment method even when the first 12 months are free. In Pakistan, Google AI plans already bill in rupees on Google One for many users. Use a debit or credit card that already works for Play Store / YouTube.
JazzCash/Easypaisa wallets only work if Google’s checkout actually lists them for your account — do not assume.
You should see Rs 0 due today (or equivalent) for the student year. If checkout shows a full Plus price with no student discount, stop and go back to Get student offer rather than paying.
6. Confirm the plan name, then lock a cancel date
On success, Google One → Subscriptions should show Google AI Plus with a student/trial end date.
Google will auto-renew at the regular Plus rate (listed as $4.99/month or local currency on the global blog; Pakistan storefronts often show a PKR monthly figure — historically on the order of ~Rs 1,400 for Plus, but trust the price on your screen). Cancel in Google One before that date if you do not want to pay.
7. Start studying in the Student Hub
Same URL: gemini.google.com/students. Create one notebook per subject, upload your own slides/PDFs, and use quizzes as practice — not as a substitute for past papers.

If the button is missing
| What you see | What it usually means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Previous student offer ended” | Old 2025–March 2026 campaign | Scroll for the new 12-month Plus claim; try a personal Gmail; wait if Google is still rolling out |
| Only paid Plus, no student badge | Offer not attached to this account/country | Confirm Pakistan country, personal account, age 18+, enrollment |
| SheerID “university not found” | School not in their database yet | Upload bonafide/enrollment proof |
| Card declined | Issuer or Google Payments | Try a Visa/Mastercard debit that works on Play; avoid VPN |
| School email required then rejected | Workspace vs personal conflict | Finish SheerID on personal Gmail with documents |
What this is not
- Not a jailbreak, APK, or “free Pro forever” trick
- Not Google AI Ultra
- Not guaranteed for every college if SheerID cannot verify you
- Not financial advice — prices on Google’s checkout win over any number in this article
When the Pakistan-office student programme is formally posted, we will update this guide and the Student Hub news page. Until then, the traffic-winning move for Pakistani students is the global Google AI Plus student claim.
