FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is this tariff calculator?

This calculator uses approximate rates based on NEPRA-published tariff schedules. Actual bills may vary due to FPA adjustments, meter factor, and specific consumer category differences.

What is slab-based tariff billing?

In Pakistan, residential electricity is billed in slabs. The first 100 units are charged at a lower rate, and each subsequent block of units is charged progressively higher. This means using more units pushes your average cost per unit up.

Do all DISCOs have the same tariff rates?

Residential tariff rates are largely uniform across DISCOs as they are set by NEPRA. However, FPA and some surcharges may differ slightly by region and billing period.

What charges are included besides energy cost?

Your bill includes FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment), GST (17%), electricity duty (~1.5%), TV fee (Rs. 35), and fixed/minimum charges. These can add 25–35% to the base energy cost.
