In Pakistan, residential electricity is billed in slabs. The first 100 units are charged at a lower rate, and each subsequent block of units is charged progressively higher. This means using more units pushes your average cost per unit up.
Residential tariff rates are largely uniform across DISCOs as they are set by NEPRA. However, FPA and some surcharges may differ slightly by region and billing period.
Your bill includes FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment), GST (17%), electricity duty (~1.5%), TV fee (Rs. 35), and fixed/minimum charges. These can add 25–35% to the base energy cost.
