Samsung execs confident Apple will launch its first foldable device in 2024

Samsung’s Mobile Experience (MX) team met with component suppliers to discuss a variety of topics, including its foldable phone strategy. According to TheElec, Samsung expects its foldable to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of up to 80% until 2025.

Samsung acknowledged high demand for its folding phones in its native market and revealed that South Korean iPhone users in their twenties and thirties are moving to Samsung foldables at a far faster rate than previously – reportedly three to four times faster than in prior years.

According to Samsung MX officials, Apple will unveil its first foldable gadget in 2024, though it will not be an iPhone but rather a foldable tablet or notebook computer. These new assertions are consistent with a prior CCS Insight report. In addition, Samsung thinks that 90% of existing foldable phone users will purchase a foldable as their next smartphone.
